under the obama health care law. but she insisted because there are so many more options now because of obama care, people can eventually get lower priced health care policies. but that was very difficult for her to explain because it is a confusing process. you saw republican after republican showing stories, telling anecdotes about constituents having problems getting on website. that was an important kind of learning experience that people who are watching this could get. understanding why if they got a letter from their health insurance company they were losing their health care and what they could do in the future. of course, because you have a lot of republicans, in fact all of the republicans there opposed the law to begin with, it was a little bit interesting to hear them complain about the process that they didn't want to happen in the first place. >> dana, stand by for a moment. this is an exchange that kathleen sebelius, the secretary of health and human services had with congress woman marsha blackburn, republican of tennessee. >> so who is responsible for overseeing this

'm quoting, it is my understanding that president obama was not aware chancellor merkel's communications were being collected since 2002. that is a big problem. american officials have some explaining to do here at home and around the world. let's find out what's going on from our chief national security correspondent, jim sciutto. he's here in "the situation room." this is a very strong statement from dianne feinstein. she confirms in effect, she's the chair of the intelligence committee, not only that she's upset, that the intelligence community wasn't informed about all the snooping, including on the german chancellor, but that the president she says wasn't informed either and in effect, she's confirming all of these reports. >> that's exactly right. this had been the burning question, what did the president know, that old question, what did the president know and when did he know it. now we have the chairman of the senate intelligence committee telling us he did not know and senior administration officials telling us that as well. senior administration official telling cnn the president d
-released nbc news/wall street journal poll shows that president obama's standing is taking a real beating in the wake of the obama care rollout. this is the weakest showing of his five-year tenure in that poll. just 42% of americans approve of the president's job performance while 51% disapprove, but president obama is not backing down on obama care. he's just wrapped up a visit to boston where he fronted an impassioned rally in defense of his health care, hardline, no backing down and he gave no quarter and importantly, no delay. that's what he seems to be against and the president is most insistent and defiant against criticses of obama care. take a listen. >> nobody's losing their right to health care coverage, and no insurance company will ever be able to deny you coverage or drop you as a customer altogether. those days are over and that's the truth. that is the truth. >> all right. we'll get to fact checking in just a minute. the president was in boston because he wanted to use romney care as an example of a slow starting, but successful health care reform law. listen to this one. >
